Tim Seevers - Senior Minister

Tim Seevers moved to Sherman in May of 2006 to assume the position of Senior Minister.
Tim is married to Peggy who helps in several areas of ministry in the church.
Tim is a 1979 graduate of Cincinnati Christian University. He comes from a family of ministers.
His father and mother still minister together. He has three brothers that are in the ministry as well.
He has been in the ministry for 30 years beginning as a part time youth minister in 1977.
Tim has held ministries in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. He enjoys sports of all kinds especially hunting, fishing and golf.
Tim and Peggy have been married for 30 years and have three grown children and two granddaughters
Tim’s favorite passage of scripture is Philippians 3:14:
“I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”

Scotty Simpson - Associate/Youth Minister

Scotty began his youth ministry with Sherman in July of 2007. He is married to Johnelle and they have two children, Dawson and Makenna. Scotty is a life long resident of Grant County and grew up in the church at Sherman. He has a passion for God and for leading young people into a relationship with Christ where they can experience the joy of the Christian life and grow in Him. The senior high youth group has grown tremendously under Scotty’s leadership. He has a passion for missions and outreach. Scotty enjoys farming, fishing and traveling.
His favorite verse of Scripture is Romans 8:38-39: “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height no depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Jason Gabbert - Children's Minister

Jason grew up at Sherman Church of Christ. He served here in many volunteer capacities until he was called to head the youth ministry with the Stringtown Church of Christ. After serving their for 2 1/2 years he was called to Sherman to head up our children’s ministry in July of 2008. Jason is married to Tiffany, his high school sweetheart. Together they have four children: Seth, Gage, Reagan and Levi. Jason enjoys hunting, movies, home improvement projects and he really loves working with children. Jason and Tiffany have expanded the children’s ministry here at Sherman and it has grown dramatically under his leadership. Jason’s favorite Bible verse is Romans 12:21: “Do not be overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good.”

Cherie Pennington - Office Manager

Cherie began working with Sherman as Office Manager in March 2009. She left the financial world to work with Sherman because of her love for the church and the opportunity to serve in a ministry. Cherie is married to Ricky and they have two daughters, Kara and Emily. Cherie is involved with the church in many capacities. She is a youth sponsor, goes on the annual mission trip and enjoys helping with all youth functions. She loves being outdoors, camping, hiking, sightseeing. She also enjoys traveling, reading and working with the youth groups.
Cherie’s favorite scripture is 1 Corinthians 13. “Love is patient, love is kind, It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”
