Who:  Anyone who will be going into the 9th grade by fall of 2013 or older.

When:  We will be leaving Saturday, July 13, or Sunday, July 14, and returning Saturday, July 20.

Cost: $425.00

What:   Our target area includes the KY counties of Powell (Slade), Wolfe (Campton) and Magoffin (Salyersville). These are some of the most distressed communities in the United Sates with very high unemployment, broken families and drug abuse wreaking havoc across the region.

Work projects include doing home repair and building projects for families in need in this area of Appalachia.

Ministry projects involve doing a VBS or outreach event with a rural church (many of them are not able to put on such an event without outside help).

We also do VBS/ministry events in areas where a church building has been vacated.

Lodging for our teams is provided by a local mission in Campton, KY, called Bethany Christian Mission - http://bethanymission.org/; Physical address is 17 Bethany Circle, Campton KY 41301.

Bethany offers housing for up to 40 people in dormitory-style setup with complete kitchen/dining facilities and shower/bathrooms.

Grocery, hardware, drug stores and restaurants are minutes away.

In relation to the churches we’ll be working with, the Campton Christian Church is about 10 minutes away and the Salyersville Christian Church is about 35-40 minutes away from Bethany (easily accessible from the Mt Parkway).
